SOUR DOUGH BREAD
6 c. bread flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 c. oil
1 c. starter
1 1/2 c. very warm water

Mix dry ingredients. Add liquid. Makes stiff batter. Grease large bowl well, 6 quart or larger. Put dough in this bowl and turn it over so oily side is on top. Cover with cloth and let rise overnight. Do not refrigerate. Next morning punch dough down a little and divide in three parts. Knead every part on floured board 8-10 minutes. Put each part in greased 9x5 loaf pan and brush top with oil. Let rise 4 to 5 hours (all day is fine). Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Remove from pans, brush on butter. Cool on rack. Wrap well and store. You may freeze loaves.
