OLD FASHIONED SUNDAY DESSERT
BREAD PUDDING
 
3 slices of bread
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 can evaporated milk (1 2/3 c.)
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
Nutmeg

Break bread into small pieces and place in a 1 quart baking dish. Beat eggs. Then stir in sugar and salt. Stir in evaporated milk, then the boiling water and vanilla. Pour this mixture over bread. Sprinkle top with nutmeg. Bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees about 1 hour or until inserted knife comes out clean.

4 servings, delicious topped with whipped or ice cream.
