SALLY ANN COOKIES 
1 c. lard
1 1/2 c. white sugar
5 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. hot coffee
1 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda

(This recipe requires no eggs.) Combine ingredients and chill dough. Then roll out and cut with a Spam can. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. When cool, frost.

FROSTING:

1 pkg. Knox gelatin
1 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. cold water
1 3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Soak gelatin in cold water; add sugar and stir in heavy pan. Bring to boil; simmer 10 minutes. Pour syrup over powdered sugar in large mixing bowl, then add baking powder and vanilla. Beat until thick (this takes about 20 minutes with electric mixer.) Frost the bottom of the cookies. These cookies freeze well.
