BLACKBERRY DUMPLINGS 
2 c. blackberries
2 c. sugar
2 c. water

Boil blackberries, sugar and water; reduce heat to medium. After mixing biscuit dough, drop by spoonfuls into boiling mixture. Cook until dough is done, approximate time 10 minutes.

Biscuit Dough:

1 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. shortening
2 c. self-rising flour

Cut shortening into flour until it feels like corn meal mixture. Add buttermilk and stir.
