STUTTGART RAILROAD STATION APPLE
TORTE
 
Pare, core and slice 6 large apples.

PASTRY:

1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. Crisco
1/8 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour

Cream together. Pack into bottom and sides of buttered 9 inch spring form pan. Turn apples into shallow pan, cover with foil and bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes.

FILLING:

8 oz. cream cheese
1 egg
1/2 tsp. gated lemon peel
1/8 tsp. salt
m 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Top filling with warm apples. Sprinkle with: 1/4 c. almond slices 1/3 c. sugar

Set pan on cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
