BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. sliced, peeled apples
1/4 c. sliced almonds

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough into bottom of springform pan.

Combine softened cream cheese, sugar; mix well. Add eggs, vanilla; mix. Pour into pastry lined pan.

Combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in sugar mixture. Spoon apples over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees. Continue baking for 25 minutes. Cool before removing from pan.
