1 (18 1/2 oz.) box chocolate cake mix
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour or line with paper baking cups 30 (36) muffin cups. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Combine cream cheese, sugar, egg, salt and vanilla; beat well. Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon one heaping teaspoon of cream cheese mixture onto each cupcake. Bake 20 minutes. Do not frost.
