1 box Pillsbury German chocolate cake mix 1 bag caramels 1/2 c. evaporated milk 1 bag semi-sweet chips 3/4 c. melted and cooled butter 1/3 c. evaporated milk Nuts (optional) Grease and flour 9 x 13 inch pan. Melt caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk (set aside). Mix cake mix with melted butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk - by hand. Pour half of batter in pan and bake - 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Put chocolate chips over top of cake. Pour caramel mixture over chips. Nuts next. Use rest of cake mix (mixture has set up by this time; you can put the batter n top and spread). Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. |
