MOM'S HARD CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
4 tbsp. water

Boil to hard crack stage (295 degrees). Remove from heat and add a few drops of coloring and flavoring: anise, wintergreen, spearmint, clove, cherry, lemon, etc. Pour in lightly greased pan 10 x 15 x 1. As it cools, you can cut with scissors or break in pieces after it cools.
