CONGO SQUARES 
2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. brown sugar (1 lb. box)
3 eggs
1 c. nuts
1 pkg. chocolate bits

1. Mix dry ingredients.

2. Melt shortening and add sugar.

3. Cool.

4. Add eggs, one at a time.

5. Add dry ingredients.

6. Add nuts and chocolate bits.

7. Spread in pan about 9 inch. Cook 20-25 minutes, 350 F.
