COCOA MARBLE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk or water
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. cocoa

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together. Add shortening, and milk. Mix until smooth. Beat in egg whites and vanilla.

Divide dough. Put 1/3 in smaller bowl. Mix cocoa with small amount of water, add to dough in smaller bowl. Beat until smooth.

Pour white and chocolate dough alternately in pans, swirl. Makes two 9 inch layers. Bake at 350 degrees at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until done.

FROSTING:

1/2 stick butter
1 lb. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
Dash salt
3 egg yolks
Vanilla to taste

Blend all together, to frosting consistency. (May have to add small amount of water, if too stiff). Frosts two-layer cake top and sides.
