FRUIT COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. mashed bananas
20 oz. can crushed pineapple, well drained
3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
8 oz. jar maraschino cherries, drained & chopped
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs, vanilla, bananas and pineapple. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Beat into egg mixture until blended; stir in cherries and nuts. Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 22 to 25 minutes until firm and golden. Yield: about 5 dozen cookies.
