POLLY'S FUDGE 
2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
4 tbsp. white Karo syrup
1 c. whole milk
Lump of butter (about the size of a walnut)

Combine all ingredients in 3-4 quart saucepan. Stir now and then so it doesn't burn or stick. Boil until a ball will form when mixture is tried in cold water. A ball you can pick up. Set aside until just warm. Beat a few minutes. Just as it starts to lose its gloss pour in greased pan. Cut before it cools any more.
