LEMON ICE CREAM 
2 c. sugar
2 c. milk
2 c. half and half
2 tsp. lemon rind
1 c. fresh lemon juice
6-8 drops yellow food coloring

GARNISHES:

Fresh strawberries
Fresh mint sprigs

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Pour mixture into a 13"x9"x2" pan. Cover and freeze until almost firm. Spoon half of mixture into a food processor or blender; process until smooth. Set aside. Repeat procedure with remaining mixture. Return all mixture to pan. Cover and freeze until mixture is firm; garnish if desired. Yield: 1 1/2 quarts.
