HAM AND BEAN SOUP | |
1 lb. navy beans, covered with water and soaked overnight Cook beans and water to boiling, then simmer for 2 to 3 hours (until beans are tender); add leftover hambone and seasonings; add more water if necessary; simmer another 30 minutes. (Optional) serve over a slice of thick homemade bread (buttered) with brown sugar and chopped onion sprinkled on top. |
