MOCHA WALNUT BROWNIES 
4 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 c. butter (no substitutes)
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts

Mocha Frosting:

4 c. confectioners sugar
1/2 c. butter (no substitutes), melted
1/3 c. baking cocoa
1/4 c. strong brewed coffee
2 tsp. vanilla extract

In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth. Remove from the heat. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the chocolate mixture just until combined. Stir in walnuts. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

Combine frosting ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Spread over brownies.

Yield: about 2 dozen.
