VINAIGRETTE DRESSING 
This is a good all-around dressing. It's great for marinating meat, fish or fowl, and it's great on salads as well.

1/2 c. olive oil
1/2 c. wine vinegar
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. fresh dill
1 scallion, minced
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. thyme
2 fresh basil leaves, torn up, or 1/4 tsp. dried freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Put all ingredients in a jar, cap and shake well. If you'd like to make Creamy Vinaigrette, add 2 tablespoons of sour cream to all of the above ingredients and then shake well. Makes 1 1/4 cups.
