SWEDISH MEAT BALLS WITH DILL
SAUCE
 
1/2 c. finely chopped onions
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. soft bread crumbs
2/3 c. milk
A little pepper
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 lbs. ground beef

Saute onions in butter until tender. Soak bread crumbs in milk about 5 minutes. Add eggs, salt, allspice, and pepper. Mix well. Stir in meat and onions. Mix well. Shape in balls using slightly rounded tablespoons for each ball. Place balls on lightly greased shallow baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve with Dill Sauce.

DILL SAUCE:

2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 tsp. dill weed

Melt butter, blend in flour, salt, and mustard. Add milk. Cook until thickened. Stir in sour cream and dill weed. Heat and pour over meat balls. Makes 5 dozen meat balls. Serves 6 to 8.
