3 eggs
1 1/2 c. Crisco oil
2 c. sugar
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
2 or 3 c. chopped apples
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix Crisco oil, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Add eggs. Blend well. Add flour, salt, and soda. Add apples and pecans. Pour in 9-inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees or 1 hour.

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. corn syrup
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

cook 4 or 5 minutes. Put on cake while both are hot.
