CHERRY WINK COOKIES 
Sift all together:

2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together:

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar

Beat well:

2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and shortening well. Add eggs, milk and vanilla mixture. Blend dry ingredients thoroughly. Add 1 cup chopped nuts and 1/3 cup chopped cherries. Spoon out onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.

NOTE: You may use cherry juice instead of milk, for more cherry taste. You may also add more nuts and cherries if desired.
