NOODLES ZUIDER ZEE | |
1 lb. bulk Italian sweet sausage 8 c. finely sliced or shredded cabbage 1 red apple, diced (skin on) 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 8 oz. (4-5 c.) egg noodles Brown sausage in skillet, stirring to separate into small pieces. (If sausage links are used, remove from casing.) Pour off any drippings in excess of 1/4 cup. Add cabbage, apple, water, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer until cabbage is just tender-crisp, about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, cook noodles as directed, drain, add butter. Add noodles to cabbage and sausage; mix well. Heat together 1 minute. 4 generous servings. |
