APPLE CAKE WITH BUTTERSCOTCH
SYRUP
 
1 stick butter
2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. apples, chopped
2 c. flour
1 c. nuts, chopped

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Then add rest of ingredients and beat. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

SAUCE:

1 c. butter
1 c. half & half
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix and boil ingredients together on low stove for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. When it starts to cool, beat some to avoid the separating of the butter. Reheat sauce to serve and pour over cake.
