HERRING DIP 
1 lb. jar herring tidbits, drained
1/2 can whole cranberry sauce
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 med. onion, sliced thin

Dry herring on paper toweling. Cut into small pieces. Mix cranberry, sour cream and onion together. Do not use onions from herring jar. Add herring and blend. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. This should be made 1 or 2 days ahead prior to use. Stir occasionally. Serve with sesame crackers or party rye.
