OATMEAL PECAN COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. 3-minute oats
1 c. chopped nuts
Pecan halves

Cream shortening, sugar, brown sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt. Fold into creamed mixture. Stir in oats and nuts. Roll into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with pecan half. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
