YEAST LOAF BREAD | |
3 pkg. yeast 2 c. sweet milk 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 egg 1/4 c. butter, melted 6 1/2 c. plain flour 1/2 c. warm water Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water with 1 tablespoon sugar until it rises. Warm the milk (not hot). Beat egg; add sugar and salt to warm milk and melted butter. Add 2 cups flour; add yeast mixture. Add remaining flour a small amount at a time. Knead well; cover and let rise in warm place until double. Knead and make into 3 loaves. Let rise. Bake at 350 degrees until brown. |
