WALNUT STREUSEL BREAD 
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. butter, melted

BREAD:

3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour bottom only of 9x5 inch loaf pan. Combine all filling ingredients, mix well. Set aside.

In large bowl, combine 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter, beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, blend well. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt, stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Fold in 1/2 cup walnuts.

Spread half of batter into greased loaf pan. Spoon filling down center of batter, to within 1/2 inch of sides. Spoon remaining batter over filling, spread gently to cover. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes before removing from pan.
