SAVORY CHEESE BREAD 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 tsp. basil leaves
1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 lb. loaf unsliced French bread
8 oz. Monterey Jack cheese

In small bowl combine ingredients except cheese and bread. Blend well. Cut bread into 1 inch slices (don't slice all the way through). Cut cheese into same number of slices. Spread bread with butter mixture (both sides). Place slice of cheese between each bread slice. Wrap in foil. Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees until cheese is melted. Serve warm.
