DOT'S CUCUMBER PICKLES | |
7 lbs. cucumbers, sliced thin 1 c. lime 1 gallon water 1/2 gallon water vinegar 5 lbs. sugar 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. whole cloves 1 tsp. pickling spices Soak cucumbers in one gallon of lime, filled water for 24 hours. Rinse well. Soak in cold water for 3 hours. Boil together the vinegar, sugar, and spices; pour over pickles. Let stand overnight. Bring to a boil and boil for 35 minutes before putting them in sterilized jars. |
