SALLY ANN COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. hot coffee
2 tsp. baking soda

Mix in large bowl.

Add: 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. cloves 3 c. flour plus 1 tbsp. or more

Mix well. Chill several hours. Roll out and cut with Spam can. Bake at 350 degrees 6 to 10 minutes.

SALLY ANN FROSTING:

1 env. plain gelatin
Scant 1/2 c. water
3/4 c. white sugar

Put above into mixing bowl. Stir in 3/4 cup powdered sugar. Add more if needed. Beat until foamy. Then add: 1 tsp. vanilla

Beat well. Frost bottom side of cookie.
