4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups (4 sticks) butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Cover countertop with wax paper or a pastry sheet (optional).

Roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness, the thinner the better! Using small cookie cutters cut them out and bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes.

Note: It is important to watch them, they are very thin cookies and you want them to be slightly brown.

Cool and put into a brown paper bag of sugar to coat cookie.
