BUTTER PECAN TURTLE COOKIES | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 1/6 c. sweet butter 1 c. pecan halves 1 c. chocolate chips CRUST: In 3-quart bowl, combine flour, 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup sweet butter. Mix at medium speed 2-3 minutes. Pat into ungreased 9x13x2 inch pan. Sprinkle pecans over crust. CARAMEL LAYER: In 1-quart pan, combine 2/3 cup sweet butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Over medium heat, stir constantly until surface boils, and boils for 1-2 minutes. Pour over pecans and crust. Bake 18-22 minutes or until top layer bubbles. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chips. Allow to melt slightly. Swirl chips slightly as they melt, leave some chips whole. Cool and cut into bars. Serves 8. |
