DROP DOUGHNUTS 
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. melted shortening
1 egg
1 c. milk
Oil for frying

Mix together dry ingredients; set aside. Mix together liquids; add to dry ingredients. Heat oil to 475 degrees. Drop batter by teaspoon into oil. Doughnuts will be round and they turn themselves. Fry until golden; drain on paper towels. Coat with cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar.
