THE JAMAR SPECIAL
This is really good with biscuits or bread. Great for a family on a budget. My grandmother made this for her nine kids. Husbands will like it.

1 1/2 lb. beef round steak
3 tbsp. oil
6 large potatoes
1 onion
all-purpose flour
milk
salt and pepper, to taste
non-stick cooking spray (Pam)

Turn skillet onto medium head add oil. While oil is getting hot cut round steak in serving size pieces (about the size of your palm). Dip in flour that has been seasoned with salt and pepper.

Place pieces of round steak in oil and brown on each side. Remember to make sure that you brown them. This can take 3 to 5 minutes on each side.

Preheat oven to 350°F

While you are browning meat prepare potatoes. Peel and cut into 1/2-inch thick circles. Cut onion into rings, separate. Spray bottom of a large baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Lay potatoes down and cover with onions.

By this time your meat will be ready. Place on top of onions and potatoes.

Take any leftover grease from skillet to make a gravy with flour, milk and salt and pepper to taste.

Pour gravy over meat, onions and potatoes. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for one hour.

After one hour, pull off foil and bake another 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and let stand before serving.

This is "old time" cooking at its best. Please share any other recipes you might have. This one is a keeper. It is on my list for upcoming preparation. Just need to cut down the size. Thanks again...
