BUTTERMILK CORNBREAD 
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 beaten egg
1 c. buttermilk

Combine dry ingredients; add egg and buttermilk, mixing well. Pour batter into a well greased 8" square pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut cornbread into squares. Makes 9 squares.
