COUNTRY HAM LOAVES | |
1 1/2 cups ground cooked country ham 1/2 cup mayonnaise 6 slices day-old bread 1 1/2 cups (6 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 1/2 cup (1 stick) plus 2 tbsp. butter, softened Combine ham and mayonnaise; mix well. Spread ham mixture over 4 slices of bread; stack 2 spread slices on top of each other. Top each sandwich with remaining slice of bread; cut each sandwich in half. Combine cheese and butter; mix till well blended. Frost top and sides of each sandwich with cheese mixture; refrigerate several hours. Place a wire rack on a baking sheet; place ham loaves on rack. Bake at 450°F for 2 minutes or till cheese melts. Makes 4 servings. Submitted by: Karen LaValley |
