6 lb. cabbage (3 heads), shredded 2 stems celery (chopped) 5 1/2 c. sugar 2 1/2 c. white vinegar 1 tbsp. mustard seed 3 tbsp. salt 2 bell peppers (chopped) 2 c. water 1 tbsp. celery seed Sprinkle cabbage with salt. Let stand 1 hour. Add celery and pepper and let stand 20 minutes. Drain. Combine sugar, water, vinegar, celery and mustard seed. Let this boil. Pour over cabbage. Let cool and then put into containers and freeze. |
