TORTILLA CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Dash of salt
1 3/4 c. oats
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. crushed tortilla chips

Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add egg. Add soda and salt. Add oats, flour, and tortilla chips. Mix well. Shape into balls and flatten with a fork. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 5 minutes. Yield: 6 dozen.
