GINGER BREAD 
1 2/3 c flour
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c molasses
4 tbsp melted shortening
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
2/3 c buttermilk

Sift dry ingredients and add others unbeaten. Beat hard.

Bake in loaf or layer pan 20 to 30 minutes at 350°F.
