4 or 5 lb. brisket, rolled and tied
1 can beef consomme
1 sm. bottle soy sauce
1/4 c. lemon juice
Garlic to taste
1 tbsp. liquid smoke

Combine last 5 ingredients. Pour over beef, marinate 12 hours or more. Cover. Bake in marinade at 300 degrees for 4 hours. Pour off liquid. Remove lid. Pour 1/2 cup barbecue sauce over meat. Increase heat to 350 degrees. Bake 45 minutes, basting 2 or 3 times. You can save the marinade to use again if you wish.
