1 box German chocolate cake mix 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1 stick softened butter 1/2 bag chocolate chips 1 bag caramels Mix cake mix with 1/3 cup of evaporated milk and stick of butter. This mixture will be very thick. Spread 1/2 of the mixture into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup of evaporated milk while the crust is baking. It takes between 2 and 4 minutes in the microwave. When crust is finished baking, sprinkle chocolate chips over it and then top with the caramel mixture. Then take the other half of the crust mixture and pull off marble size chunks and place on top of the caramel mixture. You will not be able to spread this topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Cool before cutting. Serves 15. Friends and Neighbors |
