SKY HIGH PIE CRUST
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar
1/3 c. ice water (about)

I use butter-flavored Crisco.

Measure flour, shortening, butter and salt. With pastry blender or fingers rub mixture together until it resembles coarse meal. Add lemon juice or vinegar to water using just enough to form a ball that holds together.

Divide dough in 2 parts, 1/3 and 2/3 portions. Roll out small portion between 2 sheets of wax paper; fill 10-inch pie pan. Add filling; roll out remaining dough for top. Bake at 400 degrees until brown, 30 minutes; 350 degrees 30 minutes.
