GERMAN SALAD | |
1 head cabbage, coarsely chopped 4-5 lg. sticks celery, diced 1 med. green pepper, diced 2 med. onions, white and sweet 3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar Cover ingredients with sugar; let set 30 minutes or overnight. Mix together and boil 3/4 cup vinegar plus 1/4 cup water, 1 teaspoon dry mustard, 2 teaspoons sugar, 1 teaspoon celery seed, 1 tablespoon salt and 3/4 cup salad oil. Boil and pour over cabbage mixture. Cover and store in refrigerator. |
