HOLIDAY CREAM SQUARES 
CRUST:

5 tbsp. butter, softened
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/4 c. chopped nuts (i.e., pecans)

FILLING:

1/2 c. sugar
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and brown sugar. Add flour and nuts and mix well. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture to use as topping. Press remaining mixture into bottom of an 8x8 inch pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

For filling, cream sugar and cheese. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into baked crust and sprinkle with topping. Bake 25 minutes. Cool and refrigerate. Cut when completely chilled.
