HOLIDAY SQUARES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1 1/2-2 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. lemon extract
1 can cherry pie filling
1 tsp. vanilla
Confectioners' sugar

Gradually add sugar to butter in bowl, creaming at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Add flour and lemon and vanilla extracts. Pour batter in well greased jelly roll pan. mash off 20 squares place 1 tablespoon of pie filling in center of each square. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. While warm sift 10X sugar over squares. You can also use lemon filling instead of cherry or use both.
