DUMP CAKE | |
1 pt. strawberries 3 c. butter 2 c. sugar 5 eggs, separated 3 c. sifted cake flour 2 tsp. vanilla 3 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. milk 1/2 c. orange juice 2 tsp. lemon flavoring Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, stirring after each yolk. Sift dry ingredients 3 times. Add with milk, juice, and flavorings to butter mixture. Add all other dry ingredients, mixing well. Separately beat egg whites until stiff but not dry, then add to mixture. Grease and flour wax paper-lined bundt pan. Pour cake mixture in pan. Strawberries should be cooked with 1/2 cup of sugar. Thicken with flour and dump on top of cake mixture. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes until brown. |
