STRING BEAN CASSEROLE 
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
Dash of pepper
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. grated onion
1/2 c. sour cream
2 cans whole Blue Lake beans (or frozen)
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Heat beans. Drain. Melt butter in saucepan. Blend in flour, salt, sugar, pepper and milk. Stir to blend as it cooks for 1 minute. Take from heat. Stir in onion and sour cream. Mix well. Add beans.

In a buttered casserole arrange in layers of beans and grated cheese. Sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs if desired. Bake 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
