SAUER BRATEN 
2-4 lbs. beef pot roast
1 c. vinegar
1 c. water
1 tsp. ground ginger
3 bay leaves
4 whole peppercorns
3 whole cloves
1 lg. sliced onion
2 tbsp. flour

Mix all ingredients together and pour over meat; let stand overnight at room temperature. Turn once or twice. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours. Serve with Kloese.

KLOESE OR DUMPLINGS:

2 1/2 c. riced boiled potatoes
1/2 c. flour
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. minced parsley
Pinch salt

Mix all ingredients together and drop by tablespoons into boiling water. When they float on top, they are done.
