GRANDMA'S CANDY | |
5 c. sugar 3/4 stick of butter (real) 2 c. milk (whole) Heat milk and sugar in a large kettle on high for about 10 minutes. Do not stir (3 minutes). Drop in butter (do not stir). Bring to a rapid boil all over keep edges boiling for about 10-13 minutes then test in ice water. Remove foam. Pour into a jelly roll pan. Do not scrape kettle. Don't use same spoon. In a different pan, pour last of pan in one corner in case it is sugar. Boil on big burner on medium high and then place outside until cold and a finger poke won't fill back in. Divide into bowls; stir, adding flavor and coloring until mixture stiffens. Cool and roll into balls. Cool again, then dip in chocolate. This is a complicated recipe. Any questions? Hope you enjoy. Rates, Reviews, and Comments welcome. (: Submitted by: Anna DeJoode |
