GERMAN RED CABBAGE | |
1 med. onion, sliced 1 unpeeled apple, cored and sliced 1 med. red cabbage, shredded 1/3 c. sugar or equivalent artificial sweetener 1/3 c. white or cider vinegar 3/4 tsp. salt (optional) 1/4 tsp. pepper Coat the inside of a large Dutch oven with no-stick cooking spray. Saute onion and apple until tender. Add all remaining ingredients. Cover and cook until tender, about 1 hour. Serve hot or cold. Yields 10 servings. |
