3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
5 med. eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. lemon extract

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add milk alternately with flour. (Sift flour and baking powder together.) Bake at 325 degrees approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Check with toothpick.
